Michael Dougherty is the Boulder County District Attorney — the only candidate in this four-way primary who has actually run a prosecutor's office.

The AG's office is first and foremost a law enforcement role. Dougherty has done the job — prosecuting the Boulder King Soopers mass shooting, fighting for reproductive rights enforcement, and holding powerful interests accountable in one of Colorado's most politically complex counties.

Dougherty has secured endorsements from more than half of Colorado’s elected District Attorneys—spanning both Democratic and Republican lines—representing nearly two-thirds of the counties in the state. Supporters argue this widespread respect across the political aisle is crucial for an AG who must collaborate effectively with local law enforcement everywhere from Denver to the Western Slope.
